CPHR Manitoba is the professional regulatory body for the CPHR designation in Manitoba. It operates under the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Act.

 

According to the Act:

Duty to serve public interest
2(4) CPHR Manitoba must carry out its mandate, duties and powers and govern its members in a manner that serves and protects the public interest.
Mandate
2(5) CPHR Manitoba has the following mandate:
  • to regulate and govern the professional conduct and discipline of its members;
  • to promote and increase the professional knowledge, skill and proficiency of its members;
  • to establish and enforce standards of qualification for the practice of human resource management, and to promote and contribute to the study and practice of human resource management in Manitoba;
  • to establish and enforce standards for the professional responsibility and competence of its members;
  • to participate in the development of public policy issues related to the practice of human resource management;
  • to establish beneficial relationships with other organizations that have similar interests;
  • to administer its affairs, perform its duties and carry out its powers in accordance with this Act.
